SWEET FM 97.1, our local community-based radio station, solely run by volunteers, took a big leap of faith and for the first time broadcast from outside of the Burdekin Shire, relaying from the Rotary field day in Townsville recently.
I hope you tuned in for some of the time, listening to the interviews and giving you a fair idea of what was happening.
Sweet FM received many positive comments from the public and from the exhibitors, many of whom were local businesses trying to expand their market share in North Queensland.
Both strangers and people from the Burdekin came up to the broadcasting tent to say and add a few words of advice.
It was great, if a tiring two days and congratulations to all who took part.
