Dale says – TAFE colleges must support our local industries and their futures

Dale Last MP Member for Burdekin

ONE of the key issues affecting the future of agricultural industries is the ability to train the next generation of farmers.

It appears that, after closing two of the last agricultural training colleges in Queensland, Labor has finally realised that, in order to continue to feed our state and our nation, we need a pathway for future generations to enter the industry.

While the commencement of the Agriculture Centre of Excellence at Bowen TAFE is welcomed, I can’t help thinking about how much more we could achieve by expanding agricultural training to the under-utilised TAFE college in Home Hill.
