Parliament resumed in early October and since then, we have had two sittings with some big announcements for our emergency services personnel and volunteers.
Not only did the Minister release the long overdue KPMG and SES reviews, but he also announced a new Emergency Services structure, which will see the SES and the new Marine Rescue Queensland move across to the Queensland Police Service.
It’s a big change and there is plenty of work that will need to be done in order to ensure our emergency service volunteers have the resources and funding they need to respond to their communities in times of disaster.
