About David Jackson OAM
David Jackson OAM has spent more than half a century documenting, promoting and supporting Home Hill. His family’s connection with local journalism stretches back to the Home Hill Observer, founded by his grandfather in 1923, and David went on to become a central figure in recording the town’s news, people and history.
His contribution extends well beyond journalism. David has served in leadership roles across numerous local organisations, including the Home Hill Chamber of Commerce, and is currently the Chamber’s Vice President. He has also given decades of service to Rotary and the wider community. In 2007 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of his service.
