The Home Hill Chamber of Commerce Social and Networking Event will be held at 5:30 pm on the third Wednesday of the month at the Home Hill Community Sports Club, 87 Ninth Avenue, Home Hill, Qld 4806.
Our guest speaker will be:
- Jan Johnson from the Rotary Club of Mundingburra
The Home Hill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Jan Johnson as guest speaker at this month’s Social and Networking Evening.
Jan is a long-standing member of Mundingburra Rotary Club and has devoted many years to community service, both locally and internationally. Through Rotary, she has been involved in a wide range of humanitarian projects across Africa and Asia, helping improve the lives of vulnerable children, families and communities.
Jan’s presentation, “Jan in Africa 2025”, will provide a fascinating insight into her recent travels through Africa and the life-changing projects she has supported. Her experiences include visiting Rwanda’s mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, attending cultural ceremonies, and learning about the history and reconciliation efforts of Rwanda through a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
She will also share updates on the inspiring work being undertaken at Jifunze House in Kenya, a community project dedicated to helping vulnerable adults and children develop the skills and knowledge needed to improve their health, wellbeing and future opportunities. Jan has worked closely with a number of Rotary-supported initiatives that have provided education, training and essential facilities for people living in disadvantaged circumstances.
Jan’s presentation promises to be both informative and inspiring, offering a unique perspective on international service, cultural experiences and the positive impact that dedicated volunteers can make around the world.
Members, guests and interested members of the public are warmly invited to attend and hear Jan’s remarkable story.
The meeting is open to Chamber Members as well as Members of the Public.
