NATIONAL Volunteers Week was commemorated with a sumptuous morning tea at Groper Creek Caravan Park last month.
Attended by about 20 volunteers from the Burdekin Tourism Information Centres, who man Ayr’s Plantation Creek and Home Hill’s Railway Station information Centres, the morning provided volunteers with the opportunity to stroll through the park and familiarise themselves with Groper Creek’s facilities.
Burdekin Mayor Lyn McLaughlin took the opportunity to personally thank those in attendance for their work in promoting the Burdekin to thousands of visitors each year.
