IT IS budget time—but there is little to be enthused about for Home Hill residents.
The new Federal Government will bring its budget down in four months, after it has settled into its new job.
The state government set their budget last week with little benefit locally—although there should again be many millions of dollars allocated to keeping the Burdekin bridge operational, as is the case each year.
The Burdekin Shire in its budget has continued huge spending in Ayr with nothing major south of the river, including much-needed spending in our CBD.
However, it is pleasing to see footpath improvements being carried out in the CBD and hopefully, that will continue in the future, with the Post Office footpath one that needs urgent attention.
