THERE was a novel situation for Home Hill recently, with a government minister (well an “assistant” minister anyway) actually stopping in the town to carry out official duties.
As we have mentioned previously, especially at election times, government ministers usually visit Ayr and call it a visit to Home Hill as well, which provides little opportunity for Home Hill residents and organisations to get their message across when it comes to trying to get something done in the town.
The recent situation arose when the Assistant Minister for Local Government, Nicky Boyd carried out the official duties in opening the town’s new water reservoir, which will provide more security for our community should an emergency arise with water supply.
The project is a welcome addition to our community, and it will be repeated for Ayr in the near future when their new reservoir (double the size) is ready to be officially opened.
