Dale says – Hospital needs its own CT scanner

Dale Last MP Member for Burdekin

I RECENTLY raised the need for the Burdekin to have its own CT scanner at the Ayr Hospital.

While we are lucky enough to have access to a private CT scanner, unfortunately, this is only available during business hours and as we know, emergencies can happen anytime of the day or night.

Every week, between seven and 15 people are having to be transferred after hours for emergency CT scans.

A CT scanner in the Ayr Hospital would benefit the entire Burdekin region with the potential to save time and potentially lives, including stroke patients and people injured in road accidents.

I have called on the Minister to provide the necessary funding for a CT scanner at the Ayr Hospital and it is something I will continue to advocate for.
