FULL marks to the new owners of Home Hill News & Coffee, Ken and Shay Linton, for their positive thinking in finding a way to help both themselves and the need for more services in the town at the same time.
Taking over from Shay’s parents at a time when the number of newspaper mastheads is dropping fast, they bit the bullet, added a couple of words to their business name and turned part of their store into a coffee shop.
And local residents have shown their appreciation of the move by supporting the young business couple—so much so that they have had to order more supplies in to keep up with orders.
It is amazing what can be done with a little bit of lateral thinking!
There may be more prospective new businesses in Home Hill if more of our existing operators applied the same thoughts to what the town needs.
We mentioned in our pages recently the new laundromat, which was an additional service the town did not have.
What next—real estate? A shoe shop? Fishing supplies? Put on your thinking caps!
