HOME Hill Chamber of Commerce meetings went from bad to worse in November, with only six attendees at the monthly networking meeting.
Despite all efforts by the Chamber’s management committee to try to encourage more members to show an interest, the numbers dropped to their worst total for a long time – so much so that the members present virtually agreed that there would be no meeting in December.
A final decision will be made at the next committee meeting, but there does not seem to be much point in going ahead at what is the busiest time of the year.
The November meeting ended up being a discussion group with those present having a profitable meeting with one of the planned speakers, Council officer, Tony Blackwell, on the complementary work of the council and the Role and Activities of the Community Services Department, of which he is the manager and the services provided to the local community.
It is to be hoped there is a more interest whenever the next meeting is planned.
