Dale’s Parliament Update

Dale Last MP Member for Burdekin

ON April 18, 2023, I had the opportunity to speak in Parliament about the need for the Burdekin to have access to a CT scanner at the Ayr Hospital.

The Minister of Health was present at the time and it remains to be seen whether this crucial piece of medical equipment is funded in the upcoming budget.

As we all know, the installation of a CT scanner will assist in better health outcomes for the community.

As it stands today, up to 15 patients a week are forced to make the return trip to Townsville—a 180km round trip that often relies on private transport.

I have also requested information on the programs currently being offered across the State regarding early intervention programs in the youth crime space.

As we know, our community is not immune to the youth crime epidemic currently gripping the State and I will continue to advocate on behalf of victims to ensure these offenders are held to account.
