AS you may be aware, the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport’s Minor Infrastructure Program was recently announced.
The program provided funding to eligible organisations to assist the sport and active recreation industry deliver new, upgraded and end of life replacement projects and works.
I was honoured to support local sporting groups in their endeavours to improve and update their facilities for their members.
Two organisations in Home Hill have been successful in their effort with funding totalling $409,850.00 (GST exclusive) distributed amongst the two groups.
Another funding opportunity, which I was happy to provide my support to several Burdekin groups was the Active Clubs Round three, which is part of the suite of initiatives under Activate! Queensland 2019 – 2029.
According to correspondence received from the Department, $137,500 has been approved to deliver 55 projects in the Burdekin electorate area.
