BURDEKIN community Radio Station, Sweet FM has recognised the contribution provided over many years by four of its long-serving volunteers.

Sweet FM Chairman, Uli Liessmann (pictured centre) took the opportunity recently to present plaques to Dave Giffard (right), who worked in production and Bill Lawson (left), who was a presenter. Mr Liessmann said both were volunteers for many years and “I thank them both for their contribution”.

The radio station will also be recognising Stan Sibson, their advertising manager, following his retirement after many years of good service to the station, as well as Malcolm Kirke, after many years of presenting classical music.

Both of these gentlemen will be presented with an appreciation plaque at a later date.
