TWO Home Hill-based organisations have been successful in receiving funding as part of 15 projects, totalling $80,000, to receive support from Pacific Hydro in the 2022 funding period.
The two successful Home Hill organisations were the Home Hill Community Kindergarten for a Mural by an Indigenous Artist and the Home Hill Harvest Festival’s Gateway to Home Hill.
On top of that, the Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Burdekin Inc., which is based near the Burdekin Bridge, received funding to update vital electronics in its secondary vessel from Pacific Hydro’s Haughton Sustainable Communities Fund.
The electronics upgrades will increase the safety of the crews operating the vessel and improve the efficiency of rescues in the community.
VMR Burdekin President, Steve Wilson, said grants like the one provided by Pacific Hydro were extremely important to VMR Burdekin.
