RATEPAYERS in the Home Hill community should take note that time is fast running out to pay the annual rates bill before extra fees start adding up on top of the initial payment.
In the past, payments made on time meant a discount, but now, all it means is that there will be a penalty amount of interest added on for the longer the payment is overdue.
Otherwise, the promoted 2.5 per cent increase will grow on top of the extras such as sewerage, water, garbage and other fees that council comes up with such as a “$30 Aquatic Facilities Separate charge”.
Make sure you pay by Monday, September 5 to avoid any unwanted extras.
