The Burdekin Brass Band offers a great learner class for anyone interested in learning a new skill and developing a lifelong love of music.
Learner classes are conducted every Tuesday (of the school term) just before the band’s main rehearsal, with a very low cost of $10 per lesson.
That price also includes the hire of an instrument that the student gets to take home and practice with throughout the week.
The aim of the learner classes is to teach players the basics of brass music, to then have them progress and eventually join the Burdekin Brass Band.
The Junior Brass players all started off in the learner classes and quickly progressed to be able to join the Burdekin Brass Band.
They now are able to join in with local performances!
