Swimathon 2023 continues fight against Leukaemia

WHILE Demi Caspanello may not have the worries of personally fighting Leukaemia, after having been cured of the disease for the past three years, she and her mother, Kavette are continuing their efforts to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation with their annual 12-hour Relay Swim held at the Home Hill Olympic Pool on Saturday, October 14.

First held in 2021, the Relay for Leukaemia is held every second year, with participating teams ensuring one of their team is in the water for the duration of the effort from 8am through to 8pm.

The family commenced their support for the Foundation after Demi was treated for Leukaemia and now, after three years in remission from stage four Hodgkin’s Lympho-ma, she continues with that support to raise funds to find a cure.

Six teams nominated for the 12-hour swim-a-thon this year in the hope of raising $10,000, with Demi’s team, Sink or Swim, leading the way.
