DERBY Day preparations are well advanced at the Burdekin Race Club, for the meeting to be held on Saturday, November 4, leading into Melbourne Cup Day, which will be held on Tuesday, November 7.
Described as “the second biggest day on the Burdekin Race Club’s annual program”, Derby Day attracts large numbers of ladies to enjoy an afternoon of racing which last year offered six races, a fashions bonanza and a feast of entertainment features.
Truenorth Interiors will again be sponsoring the race day, with the Club offering thanks to the Business operators, Ron and Helen Scott.
A feature of the day will be the running of four Memorial events, recognising past members and supporters of the Burdekin Race Club, including Cody Prizeman, Russ Reguson, Trevor Davies and Justin Scott.
The newest Memorial Race remembers the Club’s Patron, Life Member and friend, Trevor Davies, who passed away recently.
